How did you find out about Aspinalls Ltd?

I had spoken to some relatives hoping word of mouth would provide the kind of high quality service I was looking for. Having been recommended to a number of building companies, I found out more from speaking to them and visiting their websites. It was when I visited the Aspinalls website and spoke to Shaun that I felt in safe hands.

What did the job entail?

I had put it of for a little while but our kitchen was really overdue a refurbishment. The work surfaces, the floor and the storage space all needed significant work. We opted for a modern style kitchen with polished stone work surfaces and found a matching style for tilling the floor. We also had the walls re-plastered and painted.

How did you find the overall experience?

Working with Aspinalls was a very positive experience. I felt that we had a good relationship as I felt my opinion was listened to and any concerns I, or my wife had were answered honestly. As with most large home building projects, things can go wrong. Thankfully there were hardly any problems and when they did appear they were dealt with very professionally, with everything being clearly explained. The men working on site all had an excellent work ethic and there ability was never questioned. The disruption from builders can be frustrating but Aspinalls always did a good job tidying up after themselves which made everything a little easier at home.

Would you recommend Aspinalls Ltd to others?

Most certainly. They are a very capable company with skilled employees who understand the importance of having a good honest relationship with their clients. Any concerns I had were dealt with immediately and always solved . It is said that the proof is in the pudding. Once completed my wife and I loved the end product. We would be more than happy to recommend Aspinalls Ltd.

How did you find out about Aspinalls Ltd?

We were recommended to Aspinalls by a friend who had used them for a similar job over a year ago. From what he heard they were very capable and trustworthy. We then found their website and spoke to Shaun who was very reassuring and able to answer all our questions.

What did the job entail?

This was the first piece of work we wanted done in our home because it was the area neglected most by previous owners. My wife and I wanted to have the floor re-tiled, walls redone, a new toilet, basin and a new bathtub. The old bathroom had to be virtually stripped bare which was completed with minimal fuss, and the work began. After stripping the old bathroom we discovered some old problems which were quickly fixed. What I was most impressed by was the attention to detail Aspinalls showed. They were only happy to move on to the next stage of the project when everything was completed and checked. Fitting the features and completing the plumbing was done with some ease and the finishing touches were done with equal skill and attention.

How did you find the overall experience?

When considering getting the bathroom done I thought it would be a bit of nightmare. Thankfully it was the complete opposite. I was kept in the loop throughout the process which meant I never really worried about the progress of the bathroom. The guys all worked hard and were really focused on doing a quality job. When the bathroom was completed, my wife and I were over the moon. We both felt delighted to have used Aspinalls and will definitely use them again in the future.

Would you recommend Aspinalls Ltd to others?

Choosing to use Aspinalls was great decision. There is always disruption with home building work, but with Aspinalls they really appreciate this and try to avoid it as much as possible. They are highly skilled and show tremendous pride in their work. We will definitely recommend their services to others.

How did you find out about Aspinalls Ltd?

Internet search on google. Came up in the yellow pages. Main reason for chosing Aspinalls was not the website (which I thought was poor before the change) but the fact that they do basement conversions and this is something we would like to do in the future

What did the job entail?

1. Replace old larder cupboard with new downstairs WC. Fit basin in new WC along with all related plumbing. 2. Fit new window in kitchen and WC to add light to the house. 3. Custom buillt new cupboards in kitchen and bedrooms. Cupboard in the kitchen included shelves for baskets as well as cupboard to store iron, ironing board, brooms, etc. Cupboards upstairs included wall to wall and ceiling, large MDF painted wardrobes with fitted storage for shoes, tie racks and shoe racks all custom built and painted to my specifications. 4. Rewire entire house as electrics in property were old and dangerous. New lights were fitted all around house as well as new lights outside. Old switches were replaced. Electricity safety certificate was given at the end of this job. 5. Fumigation of downstairs cellar to get rid of wood worm. Job done well and on time as new wooden floors were fitted. 6. Basement insulation to insulate house and keep it warm. 7. Remove old wall paper, plaster and paint the inside and outside of the house. Job was done well as there were layers upon layers of wall paper. No short cuts were taken and painting was done to perfection with smooth, clean walls as a result. 8. Remove old carpets and varnish sub floor so that it remains intact for the next couple of years and is prepared for new floor to be laid on it.

How did you find the overall experience?

Very good. Aspinalls always deliver what they say they will deliver but also go above and beyond what they should be doing. I've had many little extras done for me like painting the outside stairs, fixing leaking taps and fitting the cat flap - all for free as the men were on-site and willing to do that little extra.

Would you recommend Aspinalls Ltd to others?

Yes. We keep reusing Aspinalls for the new work that comes up as we are happy with them. We trust that they will do a good job on time. If we need to go away for a couple of days, I can trust them to feed my cat, water my plants, keep the place tidy and lock up after they go. Next job will be a loft conversion and paving our front and back gardens.
